He was born in 25th of July 1887 at Mathara Dikwella District. He had thirteen siblings. Kumarathunga Munidasa was the eighth. His father’s name Mr. Don Abiyes Kumarathunga and Mother’s name is Mrs. Dona Gimara Muthukumarana.
He went to the school. He included the first school name is Dikwella Buddhist School. Then he went to the Mathara Shantha Thomas Kumara Vidyalaya and then he included the Dikwella Watarukanna Pirivena, to learn Pali, Sanskrutha etc. Mr. Kumarathunga Munidasa went to the Colombo training college for two years training for scholarship.
Then he get to first school is Bomriya Dvee Bhasha Vidyalayahad a promotion was School Inspector. He was this service five years and then he retired.
Then he came to the Sinhala Literrary.
He wrote many books. It is many language books. Sinhala, English, Tamil, Pali, Sanskrutha, Greece etc.

Because, he wrote many books. He was awarded “Viwarana Sakvithi” name.
